Assign content to new semester's course(s) in
Blackboard; be sure content is assigned by the Saturday prior to the
first day of the semester. Remember, content can be copied from a
previous semester. |

Update the
course Syllabus:
-
instructor’s name and contact information
-
preferred communication method
-
expected response times to messages and assignments, and other
policies specific to this course.
Be sure to
also include:
|
|
|
Provide a
method for students to use online tools before required assignments to
reduce anxiety and resolve technical issues before tasks are due. May
also direct students to WSU Online Orientation information. |
|
|
Correct
spelling or grammatical errors throughout the course content. |
|
|
Update and
review assignment and assessment due dates for accuracy. Be sure to
utilize the 'Date
Rollover' feature for simplicity. |
|
|
If Chi Tester is used for course assessments, update
Chi Tester course associations. |
|
|
Confirm
online grade book settings are accurate for total assessment. |
|
|
Send
informational "Welcome" message to students including how to login, what
materials are needed and how to get them, and who to contact for
technical assistance. This can be sent to students' Wildcat Mail
accounts by using the 'email class' option in eWeber portal. |

|
|
Pedagogical |
|
|
Review
past course evaluations to determine if enhancements for instructional
strategies are required. |
|
|
Makes
enhancements to course design where necessary. |
|
|
|
|
|
Technical |
|
|
Update
hyperlinks to remove dead or broken links. |
|
|
Check all
media for proper display (broken images, video playback, etc.) |
|
|
Test the
course navigation for accessibility and correct any accessibility
problems. |

|
Update
course to reflect new features of the course management software. |
